MNS PhotoGroup - Taman Botanic Shah Alam Birding Trip 2021
The last photographic trip of the year and made it in a local destination due to the massive storms we encountered.
We were lucky for a break in the weather and managed to get the elusive Blue-winged Pitta.

MNS PhotoGroup - Sekinchan Paddy Harvest & Sunset Splendour 2021
This photographic trip was finally achievable after many postponements due to the Pandemic Lockdowns and also precautionary reasons.
It was a day trip which took the group all over Sekinchan Paddy fields and Pantai Redang Jetty for the finale sunset shoot.
MNS PhotoGroup Selangor Branch New Mascot/Logo - Archie Launch
MNS PhotoGroup Selangor Branch decided to make an official announcement via YouTube of the change in Mascot/Logo who goes by the name Archie. Thanks to Constance Teo for the fitting name and George Ng for the concept design.
MNS PhotoGroup - Nature Photographers’ Role In Conservation Photography - KLPF 2021
MNS PhotoGroup Selangor Branch was invited by KLPF to a session on Nature Photographers’ Role In Conservation Photography for 2021. Session was presented by Chan Swee Peng, Mahesh Kulkarni and Gau Nair also assisted by Alex Foong and Constance Teo. This was a project very close to our hearts as we all tried our best to provide content that will bring awareness and importance of our fragile nature. Thanks again to KLPF for giving us this opportunity.

This session of Naturegrapher Pix Talk En Izzat Ahmad Fauzi will share with us his journey in birding. Izzat is an avid birder who started birding in Selangor together with Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) Selangor Branch Bird SIG some 8 years ago and has been an active member of MNS since then. Currently, he is the coordinator for Bird Group Special Interest Group for Selangor Branch, helping to organize birdwatching trips with fellow birders. Previously, he was the secretary for MY Garden Birdwatch Project, the first ever nationwide bird survey in Malaysia. Izzat has been birding all over Malaysia and he is very passionate about birdwatching and bird conservation in Malaysia.
In this session we get to see and listen to Izzat’s adventure, observing these colourful, flighty creatures. Sometimes exasperating yet rewarding.

Michael Plascow presents his adventure of a lifetime journey to the Antarctica on the exploratory cruise boat, the Moroni.
Michael will enthrall you with his pictorial tales of his fascinating encounters with the Gentoo Penguins, Weddell Seal (as pictured in the post) and the diversity of wildlife there. Sit back and armchair travel with Michael as he talks about the fragility of the environment there with an array of awesome images to the bottom of the earth!
Michael is a passionate environmentalist, a wildlife photographer. He has a big heart helping disabled children and working with Malaysian Paralympic Team. He has 50 years of experience with design photography with his team of designers and photographers.
MNS PhotoGroup - Fraser's Hill Photographic Trip 2021
This trip was long overdue only because of the Pandemic lockdown. But the sheer persistence of our MNS Selangor Branch PhotoGroup Coordinator, Alex Foong, it became a reality at last. There were 19 participants in this trip for the duration of 3 days from 16th to 18th Oct. 2021. Photographically, this trip was more focused towards Macro/Micro and Birding. Fraser's Hill is the perfect place to practice your birding skills and also learn from the experts whom you can meet along the way.

Join Zarris Kem on his journey in karst discovery from Perlis to Kinta Valley to Batu Caves complex. In Part 1 of this episode, he shares with us his knowledge on limestone formations in West Malaysia. He talks about the variety of endemic flora and fauna found in the limestone caves and how these creatures thrive there in the dark. Conservancy is key to preserving this heritage.

In this episode, the Urban Community Forest (UCF) of MNS replanted new trees including endangered tree species in the 7.28 hectares of secondary forest within the grounds of MNS.

MNS PhotoGroup - Sungai Congkak, Photography Day Trip
Sg Congkak is a recreation forest lies in Hulu Langat, Selangor. The MNS Photo Group is restarting some basic nature photography activities since the MCO/CMCO a year ago. This easy get to place gives ample opportunity for landscape and birds photography.

Watch him as he looks for snakes in the forest and describes the species, habitat and behavior. His passion on the study of land snakes has led him to co-author a book entitled "Land Snakes of Medical Significance in Malaysia". In this episode, he shares his knowledge on the diversity and beauty of snakes found in Malaysia.

MNS PhotoGroup Nature Photographers during MCO Lock down - Part1
In the current Covid-19 Pandemic and control measures implemented by the Malaysian Government, MNS Photogroup photographic trips are at a standstill with most of our member Nature Photographers unable to undertake their passion in capturing nature's greatness in locations within Malaysia or other parts of the world.
The Photogroup Committee now started reaching out to our members and requesting short video presentation on how each of them are coping with the current situation and ways by which they are still able to continue their photographic passion.
Today's Part 1 video series consist of video contributions from 2 MNS Photogroup members - Gauthaman Nair and Wong Yuen Chee, from 2 different states (Selangor and Penang respectively).
Hope this inspires viewers to not limit themselves to traveling far but making images within the laws implemented during the MCO Lock-down.

We are excited to announce Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) Photo Group have launched a new YouTube channel known as MNS NATUREGRAPHER.
The new channel will focus on conservation awareness themes with landscape, wildlife, macro photography and feature interviews with naturalist experts to help educate viewers and showcase the diversity of nature photography.
